I love Jacksonville. It’s a huge, beautiful city, with countless things to do. One of my favorites is the Riverside Arts Market. It’s right on the river, and it’s a total celebration of all things local — artists, musicians, produce, etc. And did I mention it’s right on the river? That’s another one of my favorite things about Jacksonville — no matter where you go, you’re never very far from the water.
Jacksonville is a great city. I often forget that or take it for granted, but there are seriously a ton of things to do! The river is gorgeous, there are plenty of museums and different events happen almost every weekend.
This weekend, I spent the afternoon on the Riverwalk and at The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. It was pretty chilly, but amazingly sunny and gorgeous. And even though a few of the exhibits at the museum were closed, the gardens were stunning and the view of downtown Jacksonville never ceases to amaze.
It is literally freezing in Jacksonville. For those of you that don’t know, this is extremely rare this early in December! Don’t get me wrong, I love the cold (in small doses, I must admit), but since my fingers still haven’t quite thawed out from my drive to work, I thought I’d share this picture. I just think the colors are so warm and it reminds me of a summer sunset, even though it was taken about two days ago. Happy December, and try to stay warm!
First of all, I GOT A JOB! It’s about time, right? I start work Nov. 1, at Jacksonville University, and I’m really excited!
In other news, my beach-going days are quickly coming to an end as Fall approaches and the “real world” routine kicks in next week. So last week, my sister and I ventured out to the beach for a little sunrise photo shoot. It was seriously one of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring things I’ve ever seen and I just had to share a few of the hundred+ photos I took…
Last week, my sister and I went on a photo adventure in Jacksonville. It was a gorgeous day and we had fun walking around downtown, Riverside and Five Points!
For those of you that don’t live in Jacksonville, Chamblin’s is a book store. But it’s not just any bookstore. It’s a huge, wonderful used-book store right in the heart of downtown Jax. It’s two stories of floor-to-cieling shelves full of pretty much any book your heart could desire. And believe it or not, the one downtown is the smaller branch!
My sister and I decided to take a little field trip to Chamblin’s earlier this week, as she was home for her fall break and we hadn’t been in a while. Needless to say, we are completely obsessed with this place (despite its lack of adequate AC on the second floor).
